The dance takes its name from the tool that is the centre of attention: the "Krivèl".

Krivèl is a dialect word that means sieve, the tool used by the farmers at the end of the harvest for cleaning beans, corn or other products form impurities.

Turning round the sieve, dancing to a joyful polka rhythm, take place figures of growing liveliness to thank for the autumnal harvests.
