The dance represents a joyful moment for the community honouring the patron saint, that for Cesiomaggiore is St. Juliana on February 16th.

 

 

 

The piece, usually played on the church courtyard at the end of the solemn high mass ("la mésa ultima"), is danced to a mazurka rhythm with some particular refrains to make the choreography more brilliant.
